€90,660 sanctioned for Gael-Taca in 2015 by Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh T.D.
Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh T.D., announced today that he has sanctioned an administration grant of €43,517 for Gael-Taca in Cork City for the period 1 June 2015 to 31 December 2015. This grant is additional to the grant of €47,143 already approved for the first six months of the year and brings the total grant approved for 2015 to €90,660.
Gael-Taca is an Irish-language marketing organisation whose main aim is to make Irish more visible in Cork City by fostering strong relationships with the city’s business community and by supporting the public in making more use of their Irish.
The organisation showcases the Irish language on a regular basis by attracting business people in a wide range of sectors, including shops, supermarkets, banks, public services and other services to use Irish-language advertising. Gael-Taca works closely with Cork City and County Councils and other groups to strengthen the image of the Irish language in Cork.
“I am pleased to announce this grant. My Department recognises the importance of Gael-Taca’s work in promoting the Irish language in Cork,”the Minister of State said.
